History

The site of Congerville was surveyed for Joseph Schrock on January 2, 1888, and the village was known as ''Schrock''. The name was changed to ''Conger'' on February 27, 1888, after the early settler Ben Conger, and then to ''Congerville'' on July 31, 1888.
