History

The Communauté de communes de la Septaine was established on 15 December 1999 to foster cooperation among its member communes and manage collective services and development projects. Since its formation, the communauté has undertaken various initiatives aimed at improving local infrastructure, fostering economic development, and enhancing residents quality of life. Key milestones include the integration of additional communes in 2004 and the launch of significant environmental and cultural projects.


Geography

Situated in the Cher département of the Centre-Val de Loire region, the Communauté de communes de la Septaine covers an area of 391.5 km². It is bordered by the Loire River to the north and features a mix of agricultural land, forests, and small water bodies.
