The village is located about 24 miles east of central Dayton. Clifton is home to the Clifton Mill, one of the largest water-powered grist mills still in existence. Adjacent is the 1886 Clifton Mill Covered Bridge. The village is also home to the historic 1893 Clifton Opera House.
