Demographics

As of the 2000 census, there were 390 people, 175 households, and 110 families residing in the township. The population density was . There were 181 housing units at an average density of . The racial makeup of the township was 99.74% White, and 0.26% from two or more races. There were 175 households, out of which 21.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.3% were married couples living together, 10.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 36.6% were non-families. 33.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 26.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.23 and the average family size was 2.80. The median age of 44 years was significantly more than that of the county of 40 years. The distribution was 17.4% under the age of 18, 9.5% from 18 to 24, 24.9% from 25 to 44, 23.6% from 45 to 64, and 24.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 44 years.
