forming the easternmost tier of the survey township were transferred in 1807 to Washington County. It is the only Bern Township statewide, although there is a Berne Township in Fairfield County.


Government

The township is governed by a three-member board of trustees, who are elected in November of odd-numbered years to a four-year term beginning on the following January 1.
