Berlin-Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg – Prenzlauer Berg East was created in 2002. Each section of the constituency had been an eponymous part of one of the three previous constituencies of
Berlin Kreuzberg - Schöneberg,
Berlin Friedrichshain - Lichtenberg and
Berlin Mitte - Prenzlauer Berg. In the 2002 through 2009 elections, it was constituency 84 in the numbering system. In the 2013 through 2021 elections, it was number 83. From the 2025 election, it has been number 82. Its borders have not changed since its creation.
