At the 2000 census there were 967 people, 362 households, and 275 families living in the township. The population density was . There were 451 housing units at an average density of . The racial makeup of the township was 100.00% White. Of the 362 households, 31.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.3% were married couples living together, 6.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.0% were non-families. 20.4% of households were one person and 10.8% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.55 and the average family size was 2.96. The age distribution was 21.8% under the age of 18, 5.5% from 18 to 24, 30.3% from 25 to 44, 22.6% from 45 to 64, and 19.8% 65 or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females, there were 88.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 84.8 males. The median household income was $39,861 and the median family income was $45,658.
