In
waveguide design and construction, angular misalignment loss is
power loss caused by the deviation from optimum angular alignment of the axes of source-to-waveguide, waveguide-to-waveguide, or waveguide-to-
detector. The waveguide may be
dielectric (an
optical fiber) or metallic. Angular misalignment loss does not include
lateral offset loss
Lateral is a geometric term of location which may refer to:
Healthcare
* Lateral (anatomy), an anatomical direction
*Lateral cricoarytenoid muscle
*Lateral release (surgery), a surgical procedure on the side of a kneecap
Phonetics
*Lateral co ...
and longitudinal offset loss.
