In order to be able to contract his own collaborators, he founded El Terrat, a company dedicated to 'television, radio and digital production'. His sister, Maite Buenafuente, is an actress and was also one of the founders of the production company El Terrat, where she worked as the casting director. In 2010 Andreu Buenafuente publicly announced his relationship with the actress and comedian Silvia Abril. In 2012 the couple had a daughter, Joana. In defence of his right to privacy, Buenafuente has sued various gossip magazines. In 2011 the
