Ahmet Yıldız (born 23 January 1964) is a Turkish politician and diplomat currently serving as the 22nd Permanent Representative of Turkey to the United Nations. Previously having held office as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs from 22 June 2023 until 25 April 2024, Yıldız also served as member of the Grand National Assembly from 7 July 2018 to 14 May 2023.


Life and career

He is a graduate of Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of International Relations. From 1989 onwards he took on duties in

. He took duty in Embassy of Turkey in Damascus between 2000-2002 and 2005-2006 and in Embassy of Turkey in Damascus during 2004–2005, as first secretary. From 2006 to 2008 he was Consul General in Jeddah. During 2008-2009 he was the head of Iraq Office, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Consul General in Mosul from 2009 to 2011.
