. The team was led by seventh-year head coach Tom Davis and played their home games at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. They ended the season 23–9 overall and 11–7 in Big Ten play to finish tied for third place. The Hawkeyes received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as #4 seed in the Southeast Region. After defeating Northeast Louisiana 82–69 in the first round, the Hawkeyes lost to Wake Forest 84–78 in the Round of 32.
