during the 1991–92 NCAA men's college basketball season. The Pirates were led by tenth year head coach P.J. Carlesimo. They would finish with an overall record of 23–9 (12–6 Big East). Seton Hall would grab an at large bid in the 1992 NCAA Tournament. As a #4 seed the Pirates would open with victories over LaSalle and Missouri. In the Sweet Sixteen, Seton Hall would fall to the eventual National Champions Duke 81–69.
