in the 1981–82 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The head coach was Joe B. Hall and the team finished the season with an overall record of 22–8. In the 1982 NCAA Tournament the Kentucky Wildcats were invited to participate as a #6 seed. But they were upset by Cinderella team Middle Tennessee St. 50–44.
