''Wine Cellars'' (Spanish: ''La bodega'') is a 1930 French-Spanish film directed by Benito Perojo and starring Colette Darfeuil, Valentín Parera and Enrique Rivero. It was originally made as a silent film, with sound film, sound added later. Based on the film's reputation, Perojo was invited to Hollywood, Los Angeles, Hollywood to make Spanish-language films for the major studios.Bentley p.51 It was shot at the Joinville Studios in Paris and location shooting, on location in Cadiz and Seville. The film's sets were designed by the art director Lucien Carré. Benito Perojo
Benito Perojo González (Madrid, 14 June 1894 – Madrid, 11 November 1974) was a successful Spanish film director and film producer. Biography Son of José Perojo Figueras (1850–1908), a journalist and politician of Cuban origin, by his wife, Ana Cortina Fuentes (1871–1954). On 18 July 1966 he was honoured by the Caballero Gran Cruz de la Orden del Mérito Civil. He died in Madrid on 11 November 1974 aged 80 and he was survived by his daughter Carmen Perojo Carreras.
