A wine bar is a tavern-like business focusing on selling wine, rather than liquor or beer. A typical feature of many wine bars is a wide selection of wines available by the glass. All Bar One is a chain consisting of 56 bars in the United Kingdom, owned and operated by Mitchells and Butlers plc which was part of the Six Continents group (previously Bass Brewery, Bass) until 2003. Décor The concept was designed by Bass as a 'female friendly' bar at a time when many pubs and bars were considered intimidating places for single women to go and drink or eat (due to the high rate of sexual abuse in british pubs), hence the huge glass frontage, the open plan space, surveillance cameras, concealed emergency alarm buttons and the bright airy interiors.
