The Need
The Need is an American queercore band formed by the singer and drummer Rachel Carns and the guitarist Radio Sloan in Portland, Oregon, in the mid-1990s. After issuing a series of seven-inches on labels including Kill Rock Stars and Outpunk, the Need relocated to Olympia, Washington and released two albums for Chainsaw Records. The duo's unsettling brand of post-punk art rock (combined with Carns' distinctive artwork) would set them apart and ensure their versatility. During the band's initial run, they played shows with such diverse acts as Tribe 8, Fugazi, The Ex and Bright Eyes, and toured with Le Tigre, BS 2000 and Blonde Redhead. Their third album, ''The Transfused'', acted as a soundtrack to the rock opera of the same name. The Need dissolved in 2001, with Carns and Sloan shifting their focus to other projects. Olympia, Washington
Olympia is the capital city of the U.S. state of Washington. It had a population of 55,605 at the 2020 census, making it the state of Washington's 23rd-most populous city. Radio Sloan
Radio Sloan is a musician from Olympia, Washington. They are best known as a guitarist for The Need, the band they formed with Rachel Carns. In 2022, they formeSky Lionswith longtime friend and vocalist, Outer Stace. Releasing their first album in 2023. Their other bands include CeBe Barns Band, The Circuit Side, Fact or Fiction, Grandpa's Ghost Stories; and Courtney Love's short-lived all-female backing band The Chelsea along with Lisa Leveridge, Emilie Autumn, Dvin Kirakosian, and Samantha Maloney. They appeared as a guest with Los Angeles band Scarling., with whom they played bass guitar. They are also a member of Electroclash punk artist Peaches' live band, The Herms with JD Samson and Samantha Maloney. Compact Cassette
The Compact Cassette, also commonly called a cassette tape, audio cassette, or simply tape or cassette, is an analog magnetic tape recording format for audio recording and playback. TASCAM
TASCAM is the professional audio division of TEAC Corporation, headquartered in Tokyo Japan. Bright Eyes is an American indie rock band founded in Omaha, Nebraska by singer-songwriter and guitarist Conor Oberst.
