The Mamas
The Mamas are a Swedish-American pop and soul group. They won Melodifestivalen 2020 with their single "Move", which reached number one in Sweden in March 2020. Career The group consists of Ashley Haynes (born 19 January 1987 in Washington, D.C.), Loulou LaMotte (born 16 April 1981 in Malmö) and Dinah Yonas Manna (born 5 September 1981 in Stockholm). Founding member Paris Renita left the group in 2019. As a four-piece, the group provided backing vocals for John Lundvik's Melodifestivalen 2019 entry " Too Late for Love". Lundvik went on to win the competition and got to represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 held in Tel Aviv, Israel, with the Mamas continuing to provide backing vocals. The song finished 5th in the grand final on 18 May 2019. In late 2019, it was announced that the Mamas (without Paris Renita) would take part in Melodifestivalen in 2020, this time in their own right with their entry "Move". Voices (Tusse Song)
"Voices" is a song performed by Congolese-Swedish singer Tusse, composed by Joy Deb, Linnea Deb, Jimmy "Joker" Thörnfeldt and Anderz Wrethov. The song competed in Melodifestivalen 2021, where it made it through to the final on 13 March 2021. The song received the most points from both the viewers and the international jury in the final and won the final with 175 points, 57 points ahead of the runner-up. It represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam. Following the song's win at Melodifestivalen, it ascended to number one on the Swedish Sverigetopplistan chart. It was later certified Platinum by the Swedish Recording Industry Association. In the semi-final, the song managed to qualify for the final on 22 May. In the final the song placed 14th, breaking Sweden's streak of top 10 entries since 2013, thus giving the country their lowest result in eight years. Tusse
Toussaint Michael Chiza (born 1 January 2002), better known as Tusse, is a Congolese-Swedish singer who represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021. Life and career Chiza was born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. When he was five years old, he had to flee his country. He lived in Uganda in a refugee camp with his aunt for three years and then came to Sweden. There, he lived in the village of Kullsbjörken, near Leksand, where he has resided since 2015. He participated as a singer in the Swedish talent show Talang 2018 (as Tousin Chiza) which was also broadcast on TV4; he made it to the semifinals before being eliminated. He received praise for his semifinal performance from judge Bianca Ingrosso. Tusse was a finalist in Swedish Idol 2019, broadcast on TV4, alongside Freddie Liljegren, and was ultimately declared the winner in the final. Tänd Ett Ljus
"Tänd ett ljus" () is a song written by Niklas Strömstedt and Lasse Lindbom and recorded by Swedish band Triad in 1987. The outro includes Christmas and New Year's greetings in different languages. The song is sung a cappella with finger-snapping in the background. The single topped the Swedish singles chart on 6 January 1988. The song was at Svensktoppen for eight weeks during the period 20 December 1987 through 14 February 1988. The theme of the song is that Christmas will light a candle as a symbol of hope for a better world. It has become a Christmas classic in Sweden, and is often included in Christmas music collections. UK Singles Downloads Chart
The UK Singles Downloads Chart is compiled by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on behalf of the music industry. Since July 2015, the chart week runs from Friday to Thursday, with the chart date given as the following Thursday. The main chart contains the Top 200 downloads (which are published in ''UKChartsPlus''), with the top 100 published on the OCC website. The chart only uses sales of ''permanent digital downloads'', that is single-download tracks on non-subscription online music stores. The Official UK Charts Company Limited (formerly Music Industry Chart Services Limited), trading as the Official Charts Company (OCC) or the Official Charts (formerly the Chart Information Network), is a British inter-professional organisation that compiles various official record charts in the United Kingdom, Ireland and France.
