The Black Halos
The Black Halos are a Vancouver, British Columbia-based punk rock band. Their music also includes some glam rock. History The band was founded in 1993 by lead singer Billy Hopeless and guitarist Rich Jones, and at first, was called The Black Market Babies (not to be confused with the American band with the similar name). With the addition of Matt Camirand, Jay Millette and Rob Zgaljic, they released their first album, ''Black Halos'' in 1999. They then toured the USA, playing with Nikki Sudden, the Lazy Cowgirls, L7 and The Hellacopters, among others. In 2001, they released the album ''The Violent Years'', on Sub Pop Records. They toured around Canada with The Offspring and Millencolin, and played Edgefest and the Warped Tour. Edgefest
Edgefest was an annual outdoor rock festival in Canada. It was founded by staff members of Toronto radio station CFNY-FM. From 1987 to 2015, the festival was held every year in the summer (except for 2007). The festival was most frequently held on Canada Day at Molson Park in Barrie, Ontario or a venue in Toronto. The festival featured predominantly Canadian rock bands. During its 29-year operation, the festival featured more than 300 performers. As of 2015, it was the longest running rock festival in Canada. Ken Chinn
Kendall Steven Chinn (October 19, 1962 – July 16, 2020), known under the stage name Mr. Chi Pig, was a Canadian punk rock vocalist and artist born in Edmonton and long residing in Vancouver. He fronted the hardcore punk band SNFU from 1981 until their hiatus in 2018. Other, short-lived groups that he led included The Wongs, Little Joe, and Slaveco. Chinn was an energetic vocalist, prolific artist, and sardonic lyricist. He was also an early advocate for queer identity in punk rock. SNFU
SNFU was a Canadian hardcore punk band from Edmonton, formed in 1981 as Society's No Fucking Use. They relocated to Vancouver in 1992 and went on hiatus in 2018 due to illness. The Bovine Sex Club is a bar on Toronto's Queen Street West strip. Social Distortion is an American punk rock band formed in 1978 in Fullerton, California. Blood Meridian was a Canadian alternative country band based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The band consisted of singer and songwriter Matt Camirand, guitarist Jeff Lee, keyboardist Shira Blustein, bassist Kevin Grant and drummer Joshua Wells.
