Temple Garment
A temple garment, also referred to as garments, the garment of the holy priesthood, or Mormon underwear, is a type of underwear worn by adherents of the Latter Day Saint movement after they have taken part in the endowment ceremony. Garments are required for any individual who previously participated in the endowment ceremony to enter a temple. The undergarments are viewed as a symbolic reminder of the covenants made in temple ceremonies and are seen as a symbolic and/or literal source of protection. The garment is given as part of the washing and anointing portion of the endowment. Victorian dress reform was an objective of the Victorian dress reform movement (also known as the rational dress movement) of the middle and late Victorian era, led by various reformers who proposed, designed, and wore clothing considered more practical and comfortable than the Victorian fashion, fashions of the time. Dress reformists were largely middle-class women involved in the History of feminism#First wave, first wave of feminism in the Western World, from the 1850s through the 1890s. A union suit is a type of one-piece long underwear, most often associated with menswear in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Bookcraft was a major publisher of books and products for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). History In 1940, LDS Church president Heber J.
