Telalginite
Telalginite is a structured organic matter (alginite) in sapropel, composed of large discretely occurring colonial or thick-walled Microorganism, unicellular algae such as ''Botryococcus'', ''Tasmanites'' and ''Gloeocapsomorpha prisca''. Telalginite is present in large algal bodies. It fluoresce brightly in shades of yellow under blue/ultraviolet light. The term "telalginite" was introduced by Adrian C. Alginite
Alginite is a component of some types of kerogen alongside amorphous organic matter. Alginite consists of organic-walled marine microfossils, distinct from inorganic (silica)-walled microfossils that comprise diatomaceous earth. Alginite is a complex soil Aggregate (geology), aggregate of algae based biomass fossil, clay, volcanic ash and calcium carbonate. This material contains a complete spectrum of minerals, biological, macro- and micro-organisms helping to turn lands fertile again in regions where soil has been severely degraded in the past. At least two forms of alginite are distinguishable, "alginite A" (telalginite) and "alginite B" (lamalginite). Botryococcus
''Botryococcus'' is a genus of green algae. It is a microscopic or semi-microscopic alga that is found in freshwater habitats worldwide. It consists of colonies of cells in an irregular, gelatinous matrix. ''Botryococcus'' produces high amounts of oil, which often make the colonies colored yellowish to reddish. When seen with a microscope, colonies release oil under the pressure of a cover slip. Because of its high amounts of oil, ''Botryococcus'' is of interest to the field of biotechnology, as it is a promising source of biofuel. Tasmanite
Tasmanite is a sedimentary rock type almost entirely consisting of the prasinophyte alga ''Tasmanites''.
