Mannan (polysaccharide)
Mannans are polymers containing the sugar mannose as a principal component. They are a type of polysaccharide found in hemicellulose, a major source of biomass found in higher plants such as softwoods. These polymers also typically contain two other sugars, galactose and glucose. They are often branched (unlike cellulose). Structural diversity Plant mannans have β(1-4) linkages, occasionally with α(1-6) galactose branches, forming galactomannans. They are insoluble and a form of storage polysaccharide. Ivory nut is a source of mannans. An additional type is galactoglucomannan found in soft wood with a mixed mannose/glucose β(1-4) backbone. Many mannans are acetylated and some from marine sources, have sulfate esters side chains. Masud Mannan
Mosud Mannan (born 21 April 1961) was a diplomat of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, who entered into retirement in October 2022. Between 22 October 2020 and 20 October 2022, he served as the ambassador of Bangladesh to the Republic of Turkey. Previously, he served as ambassador of Bangladesh to the Republic of Uzbekistan, concurrently accredited to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic from 16 September 2013 till 15 October 2020. Xulhaz Mannan
Xulhaz Mannan (, ; 12 October 1976 – 25 April 2016) was an employee of United States Agency for International Development, USAID at the United States embassy in Dhaka and the founder of LGBT history in Bangladesh, Bangladesh's first and only LGBT-themed magazine, ''Roopbaan'' (). He was killed in his apartment along with another LGBT activist Mahbub Rabbi Tonoy in a machete attack by Islamist extremists. Sheikh Abdul Mannan (died 1971) was a Bangladeshi journalist who died in the Bangladesh Liberation War and is considered a "martyr" in Bangladesh. Mannan People
The Mannan are a community in Kerala, India. They are one of the Adivasi who live in Idukki District. Mannan is a schedule caste community, which only worked as labours in the fields. It is the only existing tribal village in South India which falls under the Kanchiyar grama panchayath of Idukki tehsil (previously Udumbanchola tehsil). The village has four religious divisions such as 'Thekkottu Kattu Rajyam', 'Nadukkuda Kattu Rajyam', 'Athal Orupuram' and 'Chenkanattu Mala'. About Gazi Alimuddin Mannan ''Gazi Alimuddin Mannan'' was born on June 8, 1930 in Satkola village of Cumilla. His contribution to the dance world of Bangladesh is outstanding.
