This is a list of cantonal legislatures of Switzerland. Each canton has a democratically elected cantonal legislature, as well as elected members to the Federal Assembly. The cantonal legislatures are elected for four years, except in Fribourg, Vaud, Geneva and Jura, which elect their legislatures for five years. The largest legislature, in Zürich, has 180 members, whilst the smallest, in less-populous Appenzell Innerrhoden, has onlyGR 49 members. Petra Gössi
Petra Gössi is a Swiss politician. She has served as a member of the Swiss National Council and has been the leader of the FDP.The Liberals party since 2016. Gössi was born in Lucerne but raised in Küssnacht am Rigi in the canton of Schwyz. She went to high school in Immensee and graduated from the University of Bern with a law degree. She worked as a tax and business consultant. In 2004, she was elected to the Cantonal Council of Schwyz. At the age of 32, she became the council president and served in that role until 2011, when she was elected to the National Council. She was also selected as the FDP leader in Schwyz. Christian Levrat (born 7 July 1970) is a Swiss politician. He served as the President of the Social Democratic Party of Switzerland from 2008 until 2020. He has served as a member of the Council of States from Fribourg since 2012. Prior to the Council of states, He was a member of the National Council in from 2003 to 2012.
