Krajište
Kraishte (, sometimes with a definite article Краището, ''Kraishteto'') or Krajište () is a geographical and historical region split between southwestern Bulgaria and southeastern Serbia, with a very small part in northeastern North Macedonia. Geography Geographically, Kraishte is a mosaic of highlands and mountains of low to medium height, interspersed with high valleys. To the west, the region is delimited by the valley of the South Morava in Serbia. To the north Kraishte includes the Znepole area with the valley of the Jerma (river), Jerma and reaches the Svetlya valley and the Radomir (town), Radomir basin. To the east and south are the Dupnitsa and Kyustendil basins respectively, in which the Dzherman (river), Dzherman and Struma (river), Struma rivers separate it from the higher mountains of Rila and Osogovo. Pernik ( ) is List of cities and towns in Bulgaria, a town in western Bulgaria (about south-west of Sofia) with a population of 70,285 . Besna Kobila
Besna Kobila (Serbian Cyrillic: Бесна Кобила, , meaning "mad mare") is a mountain in southeastern Serbia and small ski center. Its eponymous highest peak has an elevation of 1,923 m. It lies 35 km to the east of the city of Vranje. There is a mountain chalet Besna Kobila from where it takes between 60 and 90 minutes to reach the summit on foot. The mountain is known for its stormy weather, so the best months for climbing are during the warmer part of the year. Besna Kobila used to have 9 months of snow a year, making it suitable for ski tourism. As of 2010, there is only the mountain chalet, which has been used for accommodation of students. Elovishka Planina
Elovishka Planina () is a mountain range in Kraishte region of western Bulgaria with an altitude of 1,329 meters above sea level. It is part of the Ruy-Verila range. The mountain has the shape of an isosceles triangle, with its apex facing northwest. Its length is about 16 km and the width reaches a maximum of 7 km. To the north the valley of the river Leshnikovitsa, a right tributary of the Erma, separates it from the Leshnikovska Planina; to the west the upper course of the same river and the Valcha Polyana Saddle (1,105 m) form the boundary with the Bohovska Planina. To the east the valleys of the rivers Mramorska, a tributary of the Leshnikovska, and Yavor from the Struma basin separate it from the Erulska Planina and to the south a 1,049 m saddle links it to the Penkyovska Planina. Leshnikovska Planina
Leshnikovska Planina () is a small mountain range in Kraishte region of western Bulgaria with an altitude of 1,086 meters above sea level. It is part of the Ruy-Verila range. It is an egg-shaped mountain with a length in southwest–northeast direction is 6 km, and the width is 5 km. To the west, north and east its slopes descend steeply to the valley of Znepole on the river Erma. To the south the river Leshnikovitsa, a right tributary of the Erma, separate it from the Elovishka Planina. Its highest point, the summit of Zlataritsa (1,086 m), rises in the middle of the range, west of the village of Studen Izvor. It is covered with deciduous forests. Lyubash
Lyubash () is a mountain range in Kraishte region of western Bulgaria with an altitude of 1,399 meters above sea level. It is part of the Ruy-Verila range. It descends to the Breznik Valley to the southeast; to the north and northeast the valley of the river Yablanitsa, a tributary of the Erma, separates it from the small mountain ranges of Strazha and Zavalska Planina; to the west the valley of the Svetlya, a tributary of the river Struma serves as the boundary with the Erulska Planina. To the southeast a 830 m saddle links it with Cherna Gora. Its length in northwest–southeast direction is 15 km, and the width is 7 km. Strazha (mountain)
Strazha () is a small monoclinal mountain range in Kraishte region of western Bulgaria with an altitude of 1,389 meters above sea level. It is part of the Ruy-Verila range. It is sometimes called Paramun Mountain (Паламунска планина) after the village of Paramun. Strazha is situated between the valleys of the rivers Yablanitsa, a tributary of the Erma river, and Velinovska a left tributary of the Yablanitsa, which separate it from the mountain ranges of Zavalska Planina to the northeast, Lyubash to the south, Lyulyak to the west and Ezdimirska Planina to the north.
