Kingdom (biology)
In biology, a kingdom is the second highest taxonomic rank, just below domain. Kingdoms are divided into smaller groups called phyla (singular phylum). Traditionally, textbooks from Canada and the United States have used a system of six kingdoms (Animalia, Plantae, Fungi, Protista, Archaea/Archaebacteria, and Bacteria or Eubacteria), while textbooks in other parts of the world, such as Bangladesh, Brazil, Greece, India, Pakistan, Spain, and the United Kingdom have used five kingdoms (Animalia, Plantae, Fungi, Protista and Monera). Some recent classifications based on modern cladistics have explicitly abandoned the term ''kingdom'', noting that some traditional kingdoms are not monophyletic, meaning that they do not consist of all the descendants of a common ancestor. Kingdoms (Broadway Album)
Broadway was an American post-hardcore band from Orlando, Florida. Formed in 2007, the band "burst onto the music scene with their catchy hooks and sophisticated song structures." The band joined Uprising Records to release their debut album ''Kingdoms'' in 2009 which features guest appearances by singers Jonny Craig and Craig Owens. The band is also known for their cover of The Lonely Island's single " I'm on a Boat", and have released three full-length albums entitled ''Kingdoms'', ''Gentlemen's Brawl'' and ''Contexture: Gods, Men, & The Infinite Cosmos''. History Early years and ''Scratch and Sniff'' (2007–2009) The band formed in Florida in 2007, with the drummer Jake Garland being the only founding member. ''Kingdoms'' is a German-style board game for 2-4 players designed by Reiner Knizia and released in 2002 by Fantasy Flight. The game is based on Knizia's original Germany, German game ''Auf Heller und Pfennig'', but has been given a Medieval Fantasy theme. In 2003, ''Kingdoms'' won the Origins Award for ''Best Abstract Board Game of 2002''. Rules Players take turns drawing tiles from a stack and laying them on an orthogonal grid, representing a kingdom being settled. Tiles can be either resources (with value +1 to +6) or hazards (-1 to -6). The sum of all tile values on a row or column determines the score for that row or column. A special case is the ''mountain tile'', which splits the row and column it occupies into two, so that each section is scored separately. Players may also play castle tiles, ranked 1 through 4. Kingdoms (LIYW Album)
Life in Your Way (also known as LIYW) is a Christian hardcore band from Connecticut. History Origins (1999-2002) The band was formed by two childhood friends Josh Kellam and Todd Mackey. Jeremy Kellam joined the band to play bass after the dissolution of his former band, which also included Casey McCue who played second guitar for a short period and was then replaced by Jason DiNitto. The band played many concerts throughout the Northeastern United States, quickly garnering acclaim and a rapidly multiplying fan-base. The band stayed a four piece for some time. At that time they befriended a band called Solace from New York, with whom they released a split CD entitled The Heart and Flesh Cry Out. ''Physicist'' is the fourth solo album by Canadian musician Devin Townsend. The album was released on June 26, 2000, on Townsend's label, HevyDevy Records. ''Physicist'' is distinguished from the rest of Townsend's solo portfolio for the crossing of the style of his work in Strapping Young Lad with elements that had been explored in '' Ocean Machine: Biomech'' and ''Infinity''.
