Its seat is the town of Oborniki Śląskie, which lies approximately west of Trzebnica, and north-west of the regional capital Wrocław. The gmina covers an area of , and as of 2019 its total population is 20,261. It is part of the larger Wrocław metropolitan area. The gmina (Polish: , plural ''gminy'' ) is the basic unit of the administrative division of Poland, similar to a municipality. , there were 2,479 gminy throughout the country, encompassing over 43,000 villages. 940 gminy include cities and towns, with 322 among them constituting an independent urban gmina () consisting solely of a standalone town or one of the 107 cities, the latter governed by a city mayor (''prezydent miasta''). The gmina has been the basic unit of territorial division in Poland since 1974, when it replaced the smaller gromada (cluster). Uraz, Lower Silesian Voivodeship
Uraz is a village (former city) in the administrative district of Gmina Oborniki Śląskie, within Trzebnica County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. It lies on the Oder River, approximately south-west of Oborniki Śląskie, south-west of Trzebnica, and north-west of the regional capital Wrocław. Landmarks The main church, the Church of Archangel Michael, was mentioned in 1218. The present church was built in 1750–1789 in the Baroque style. It was restored in the 19th century, but burned down in 1945. It was subsequently rebuilt in 1951-1953 by the priest Franciszek Dorżyński. In 1970 a new interior with polychrome was added.
