Albert Etter
Albert Etter (1872–1950) was an American plant breeder best known for his work on strawberry and apple varieties. Early life and education Albert Felix Etter was born near Shingle Springs in El Dorado County, California, on November 27, 1872. He was one of ten surviving children of the Swiss-born Benjamin Etter (d. 1889), all but one of whom were boys. Around 1876 the family moved to Humboldt County, where Benjamin acquired a farm near Ferndale and became the first person to grow lentils in the county. Development of Ettersburg Albert's German-born mother, Wilhelmina (Kern) Etter (d. 1913) was skilled at cultivating plants, and Etter showed a talent for hybridizing plants in childhood, working with apples, peaches, dahlias, and strawberries by the time he was twelve. William F. Etter (born February 18, 1950) is a former American football quarterback. He was an All-American at Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane; a two-game starter for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football, University of Notre Dame until a knee injury ended his college career; and a three-year backup for the Canadian Football League, CFL's Hamilton Tiger-Cats, from 1973-1975. He is currently a commercial and personal injury defense lawyer in Spokane. Robert Glenn Etter (born August 8, 1945) is a former American college and professional football player who was a placekicker in the National Football League (NFL) and World Football League (WFL) for four seasons during the 1960s and 1970s. Carrie Etter (born 1969) is an American poet. Life Originally from Normal, Illinois, she moved to Southern California at the age of 19, and on to London in 2001. Etter holds a BA from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an MFA, MA and PhD from the University of California, Irvine. She was a visiting lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire for 2003–2004, teaching short-story writing and literature. She was a Reader at Bath Spa University, where she taught between 2004 and 2022. She is currently guiding the new poetry provision in University of Bristol's Masters in Creative Writing. In the UK, her poems have appeared in ''The New Statesman'', ''Poetry Review'', ''The Rialto'', ''The Times Literary Supplement'', and elsewhere, while in the US her poems have appeared in ''The Iowa Review'', ''The New Republic'', ''Seneca Review'', and many other journals. Maria Woodworth-Etter
Maria Beulah Woodworth-Etter (July 22, 1844–September 16, 1924) was an American healing evangelist. Her ministry style was a model for Pentecostalism. Life Woodworth-Etter was born in New Lisbon, Columbiana County, Ohio, as Mariah Beulah Underwood. She was born again at the beginning of the Third Great Awakening at the age of thirteen. Maria immediately heard the call of God and dedicated her life to the Lord. Of her calling she would later write, "I heard the voice of Jesus calling me to go out in the highways and hedges and gather in the lost sheep." In 1863, she married Philo Horace Woodworth, whom she divorced for infidelity in 1891. She had six children with Woodworth, five of whom died young. Philipp Etter (21 December 1891, in Menzingen – 23 December 1977) was a Swiss politician. He was the son of Joseph Anton, cooper master, and the Jakobea Stocker. During his office time he held the Department of Home Affairs and was President of the Confederation four times between 1939 and 1953. He was chosen for the Conservative People's Party in the Zug cantonal parliament. By 1922 he had moved into the Executive Council, where he took over the education and Military Department. Between 1927 and 1928 he was Zugerland Ammann. In 1930 he was elected to the Senate. He was elected to the Federal Council of Switzerland on 28 March 1934 and handed over office on 31 December 1959.
