Electoral District Of Bancroft
Bancroft is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Queensland. It was created in the 2017 redistribution. It is named after pioneer doctor Joseph Bancroft. Located in the Moreton Bay Region, Bancroft consists of the north and central sections of the existing electorate of Murrumba, including the suburbs of Burpengary East, Deception Bay, North Lakes and parts of the Narangba, Rothwell, Morayfield and Mango Hill suburbs. Chris Whiting
Christopher Guy Whiting (born 13 July 1966) is an Australian politician. He has been the Australian Labor Party member for Bancroft in the Queensland Legislative Assembly since 2017, and previously represented Murrumba from 2015 to 2017. Early life Whiting graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and a Master of Journalism. Political career Prior to being elected as a member of the Queensland Parliament, he represented Burpengary, Beachmere and Deception Bay for 12 years on the Caboolture Shire Council and then the Moreton Bay Regional Council. During his time as a councillor, he was at the forefront of the revitalisation of the Deception Bay foreshore, the implementation of traffic calming Traffic calming uses physical design and other measures to improve safety for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists. Mango Hill, Queensland
Mango Hill is a suburb in the Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , Mango Hill had a population of 14,921 people. History Although locally known by this name since the 1950s, it wasn't until 1 September 1980 that it was formally decreed. The name Mango Hill was chosen to commemorate the section of Mango trees ( Magnifera indica) that were planted along the 700 metre (2,300 ft) section of Anzac Avenue that passes through the area. In March 2006, the Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Water subdivided the northern section of Mango Hill to form the suburb of North Lakes. Although now separated, the area still reaps the benefits of the major infrastructure and retail upgrades that have taken place in North Lakes in recent years, including the Redcliffe Peninsula railway line and shopping outlets such as Costco and IKEA. Morayfield is a town and suburb in the Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , the suburb of Morayfield had a population of 21,394 people. Morayfield is by road north of Brisbane CBD, the state capital. Geography Morayfield is a mostly residential area, consisting mainly of low-set brick homes and some semi-rural acreage. Deception Bay is a coastal suburb in the Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , Deception Bay had a population of 19,850 people. Geography It is approximately north of Brisbane CBD in the south-eastern corner of the bay of the same name which separates the Redcliffe Peninsula and Bribie Island. Burpengary East is a coastal suburb in the Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , Burpengary East had a population of 6,433 people. Geography The suburb is bounded by the Bruce Highway on the west.
