The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross () and its variants were the highest awards in the military and paramilitary forces of Nazi Germany during World War II. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded for a wide range of reasons and across all ranks, from a senior commander for skilled leadership of his troops in battle to a low-ranking soldier for a single act of extreme gallantry. A total of 7,321 awards were made between its first presentation on 30 September 1939 and its last bestowal on 17 June 1945. This number is based on the analysis and acceptance of the Blue-ribbon panel, order commission of the Association of Knight's Cross Recipients (AKCR). Loch Eil () is a loch, sea loch in Lochaber, Scotland that opens into Loch Linnhe near the town of Fort William, Highland, Fort William. John Stewart of Ardvorlich, Ardvorlich notes that "the name of the Chief of Clan Cameron is spelt LOCHIEL, while the name of the loch is spelt LOCH EIL." Loch Eil Outward Bound railway station and Locheilside railway station are both situated on the northern shore of the loch. Achaphubuil is on the southern shore. The Eastern Independent League (EIL) is composed of eleven New England preparatory schools that compete athletically and academically. Eil is a suburb of Cologne, Germany located in the city district of Porz, south-east of the city center. The term energy input labeling involves producers of goods and services determining the amount of energy used to produce their product and then including that information on their product packaging. Energy input labeling is sometimes known by the acronym EIL. Eielson Air Force Base is a United States Air Force (USAF) base located approximately southeast of Fairbanks, Alaska, and just southeast of Moose Creek, Alaska. It was established in 1943 as Mile 26 Satellite Field and redesignated Eielson Air Force Base on 13 January 1948. It has been a Superfund site since 1989.
