Michael Eakin
J. Michael Eakin (born November 18, 1948) is an American lawyer, who served as a justice of the Supreme Court of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He was elected to the State's Supreme Court in 2001 as a Republican. In November 2011, Justice Eakin won judicial retention in a statewide election for his second 10-year term with 73.6% of the popular vote. In response to an ethics investigation, he made his resignation public on March 15, 2016. Early life and career Justice Eakin was born in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania in 1948. William Eakin
William Eakin (June 14, 1828 – March 14, 1918) was a farmer and political figure in the Northwest Territories, Canada. He was a member and speaker of the Legislative Assembly of the Northwest Territories. He was born at Markham Township in 1828, the son of a wagon maker and merchant. After attending school, he joined his family business, remaining there until purchasing and starting businesses of his own: a carriage making company and later a planing mill where he made a variety of items, along with his brother. Eakin later sold his plant and moved west to homestead and farm near Crescent Lake. Here he involved himself in local affairs, eventually winning election to the Legislative Assembly of the Northwest Territories for the district of Saltcoats, serving from 1894 to 1902. Sue Eakin (1918–2009) was an American history professor at Louisiana State University of Alexandria. She received a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship and was made a Fellow of American Association of University Women. Bruce Glen Eakin (born September 28, 1962) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre. Eakin was drafted 204th overall by the Calgary Flames in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft, where he played nine games. He later moved to the Detroit Red Wings where he played four games. Oliver Kay Eakin Jr. (August 3, 1917 – February 15, 1993) was an American football player in the National Football League (NFL) and the All-America Football Conference (AAFC). He was the third overall pick in the 1940 NFL draft. Eakin played college football at the University of Arkansas, and was selected in the first round of the 1940 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. (born John Richbourg, August 20, 1910 – February 15, 1986) was an American radio disc jockey who attained fame in the 1950s and 1960s for playing rhythm and blues music on Nashville radio station WLAC. He was also a notable record producer and artist manager.
