The Intel 386, originally released as the 80386 and later renamed i386, is the third-generation x86 architecture microprocessor from Intel. It was the first 32-bit processor in the line, making it a significant evolution in the x86 architecture. A direct exchange (DX) geothermal heat pump is a type of ground source heat pump in which refrigerant circulates through copper tubing placed in the ground unlike other ground source heat pumps where refrigerant is restricted to the heat pump itself with a secondary loop in the ground filled with a mixture of water and anti-freeze. The simplicity of the DX designs is that high efficiencies can be reached using a shorter and smaller amount of buried tubing thereby reducing both the footprint and installation cost. The New Zealand DX class locomotive is a type of diesel locomotive, diesel-electric locomotive that currently operates on New Zealand's Rail transport in New Zealand, national railway network. The London and North Western Railway (LNWR) DX Goods class was a class of 0-6-0 steam locomotive, designed by John Ramsbottom for freight duties. 943 were constructed, making them the largest single class of steam locomotives built in the United Kingdom. Despite this, none were preserved. History The "DX" goods engine was the first original design produced by Ramsbottom, shortly after becoming Locomotive Superintendent of the Northern Division. An experimental prototype was developed at Longsight whilst Ramsbottom was only in charge of the North-Eastern Division. Bavarian D X
The Bavarian Class D X engines were saturated steam locomotives of the Royal Bavarian State Railways (''Königlich Bayerische Staatsbahn''). The locomotives, which were built by Krauss were similar to the Class D VIII, but were smaller and lighter. Like the D VIII they had a trailing axle, that was connected to the final coupled axle by a Krauss-Helmholtz bogie. In 1890 the first six were built, followed in 1893 by three more with somewhat larger wheels. The first engine was only 8,880 mm long due to the lack of a coal bunker on the driver's cab. All the vehicles were taken over by the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft in 1925 as DRG Class 98.77 and remained in service until 1931. Nikon DX Format
The Nikon DX format is an alternative name used by Nikon corporation for APS-C image sensor format being approximately 24x16 mm. Its dimensions are about (29 mm vs 43 mm diagonal, approx.) those of the 35mm format. The format was created by Nikon for its digital SLR cameras, many of which are equipped with DX-sized sensors. DX format is very similar in size to sensors from Pentax, Sony and other camera manufacturers. All are referred to as APS-C, including the Canon cameras with a slightly smaller sensor. Nikon has produced 23 lenses for the DX format, from macro to telephoto lenses. 35mm format lenses can also be used with DX format cameras, with additional advantages: less vignetting, less distortion and often better border sharpness.
