Dorothy DeLay (March 31, 1917 – March 24, 2002) was an American violin teacher, instructor, primarily at the Juilliard School, Sarah Lawrence College, and the University of Cincinnati. Florence Delay (; born 19 March 1941 in Paris) is a French writer. She has been a member of the Académie française since 2000. She has notably written novels, essays and plays (in collaboration with Jacques Roubaud) and has translated texts from Spanish. She is also known for portraying Joan of Arc in the 1962 Robert Bresson film '' The Trial of Joan of Arc''. Jan Phillip Eißfeldt (born 25 August 1976), known professionally as Jan Delay, is a German rapper and singer whose stylistic range includes mainly hip hop, reggae, dub and funk. An accomplished solo artist, he became known to the public as a member of the German bands Absolute Beginner and La Boom. Jason Thomas Delay (born March 7, 1995) is an American professional baseball catcher for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Jean Delay
Jean Delay (14 November 1907, Bayonne – 29 May 1987, Paris) was a French psychiatrist, neurologist, writer, and a member of the Académie française (Chair 17). His assistant Pierre Deniker conducted a test of chlorpromazine on the male mental ward where Delay worked, and the two published their findings (quickly, with what has been called academic gamesmanship) in 1952. Chlorpromazine turned out to be the first effective drug treatment for mental illness and it had a profound effect on the mentally ill and mental asylums. Delay is an audio signal processing technique that records an input signal to a storage medium and then plays it back after a period of time. It comprises previously unreleased work recorded for Can's rejected debut album, ''Prepared to Meet Thy Pnoom''. Background Recorded with the group's original lead singer Malcolm Mooney, Can offered ''Prepared to Meet Thy Pnoom'' to several record companies, but the album was not picked up.
