Castle Of Turégano
The Castle of Turégano () is an ancient fortress located in the town of Turégano north of Segovia, Spain. The castle was founded on the site of a pre-existing fortress. Its structure is integrated into the adjacent church of San Miguel. In 1585, the castle was used to imprison Antonio Pérez, the then-disgraced secretary of king Philip II. Segovia ( , , ) is a city in the autonomous communities of Spain, autonomous community of Castile and León, Spain. It is the capital and most populated municipality of the Province of Segovia. Segovia is located in the Meseta central, Inner Plateau of the Iberian Peninsula, near the northern slopes of the Sistema Central mountain range. Antonio Pérez (statesman)
Antonio Pérez del Hierro (1540–Paris, 7 April 1611) was a Spanish statesman and secretary of king Philip II of Spain. He was said to have organised the murder of Juan de Escobedo. Attempts to prosecute Perez led to riots and disorder.
