''Balance'' reached number 1 on the U.S. ''Billboard'' 200 in February 1995 and reached Triple Platinum status on May 12, 2004, by selling more than three million copies in the U.S. "The Seventh Seal" was nominated for a Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance. Recording and production According to Ian Christe's book, ''Everybody Wants Some: The Van Halen Saga'', ''Balance'' was released amid internal fighting between Sammy Hagar and the Van Halen brothers. Balance (ability)
Balance in biomechanics, is an ability to maintain the line of gravity (vertical line from centre of mass) of a body within the base of support with minimal postural sway. Sway is the horizontal movement of the centre of gravity even when a person is standing still. A certain amount of sway is essential and inevitable due to small perturbations within the body (e.g., breathing, shifting body weight from one foot to the other or from forefoot to rearfoot) or from external triggers (e.g., visual distortions, floor translations). An increase in sway is not necessarily an indicator of dysfunctional balance so much as it is an indicator of decreased sensorimotor control. Maintaining balance Maintaining balance requires coordination of input from multiple sensory systems including the vestibular, somatosensory, and visual systems. * Vestibular system: sense organs that regulate equilibrium (equilibrioception); directional information as it relates to head position (internal gravitation ...

Balance (apportionment)
Balance or balancedness is a property of apportionment methods, which are methods of allocating identical items between among agens, such as dividing seats in a parliament among political parties or federal states. The property says that, if two agents have exactly the same entitlements, then the number of items they receive should differ by at most one. So if two parties win the same number of votes, or two states have the same populations, then the number of seats they receive should differ by at most one. Ideally, agents with identical entitlements should receive an identical number of items, but this may be impossible due to the indivisibility of the items. Balancedness requires that the difference between identical-entitlement agents should be the smallest difference allowed by the indivisibility, which is 1. For example, if there are 2 equal-entitlement agents and 9 items, then the allocations (4,5) and (5,4) are both allowed, but the allocations (3,6) or (6,3) are not - a ...

Balance (puzzle)
A balance puzzle is a mathematical puzzle which challenges the solver to distribute a subset of numbers so that the several sides of a stylized diagram representing a balance scale are equal. The balance puzzle is a classical number puzzle in the World Puzzle Championship. It consists of a mobile or tree structure, with designated positions where the player must hang specified weights, so that everything balances. See examples below. There are usually 8 to 12 consecutive numbers (weights) to place, which makes it much smaller than, for example, sudoku Sudoku (; ja, 数独, sūdoku, digit-single; originally called Number Place) is a logic-based, combinatorial number-placement puzzle. In classic Sudoku, the objective is to fill a 9 × 9 grid with digits so that each column, each row .... As in many mathematical puzzles, the solution is unique. Balance (game Design)
Game balance is a branch of game design that is described as a mathematical-algorithmic model of a game’s numbers, game mechanics, and relations between the two. Game balance consists of adjusting values to create a certain user experience. Players’ perception and experience are the objectives of game balancing. Overview and development Similar to game design, the definition of game balance is different between various game designers and developers. Game balance is present in every type of game in some form, so there are no existing comparable interpretations of the concept. Even so, game balance is generally understood as introducing a level of fairness for the players. This includes adjusting difficulty, win-loss conditions, game states, economy balancing, and so on to work in tandem with each other. The concept of game balance depends entirely on the type of game being discussed. Most game designers agree that game balancing serves towards providing an engaging player expe ...

Unleash (EP)
''Unleash'' is the second extended play by Japanese rock band Band-Maid. The EP was released by Pony Canyon on September 21, 2022, and contains eight tracks, including the lead single "Sense". It debuted at number nine on the Oricon Albums Chart, selling 7,590 in its first week. Background and recording The songs on ''Unleash'' were taken from compositions that the band had worked on over the previous two years. Composition and lyrics Lead guitarist Kanami Tōno stated that she tries not to listen to rock bands, so that she won't be inspired by them. "From Now On" originated because lead vocalist Saiki Atsumi wanted to have a new instrumental. The song includes orchestral elements. Bassist Misa wrote her bass solo on a keyboard. Tōno wrote "Balance" with an image of bouncy song, but that would also feel futuristic and experimental. It includes lots of English words because rhythm guitarist/vocalist Miku Kobato wanted to use more strong words. Atsumi asked Kobato to make the beginn ...
