Zoltán Varga (1 January 1945 – 9 April 2010) was a Hungarian footballer who played in the 1960s and 1970s.Obituary '' London Independent'', 29 April 2010. He was an Olympic gold medalist at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. He played for Ferencvárosi TC when they won the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1965, beating Juventus 1–0 in the final. He also played for Ajax Amsterdam. He played in Germany for Borussia Dortmund and Hertha BSC, but was banned after he was caught taking bribes to lose matches. During the period of his ban he played for Aberdeen F.C. in Scotland. Club career Career in Hungary Varga began his professional csreer with Ferencváros. He played for them between 1961 and 1968, one of the most successful post-World War II periods in the club's history. Varga made 135 career appearances, scoring 53 goals. Zoltán Varga (born 17 September 1952 in Miskolc) is a Hungarian engineer-economist and politician. He was the Minister of Local Government in cabinet of Prime Minister Gordon Bajnai. Since 2006 he is one of the members of the Committee of the Regions. Political career He spent his student years in Miskolc, although he did his secondary school studies in Kazincbarcika, in a Chemical Industry Technical School. He obtained a chemical industry graduate engineer diploma at the Pollack Mihály Technological College in Pécs. First he obtained a special engineer then an engineer-economist diploma. Although he met his wife, Erzsébet Vági in Pécs, he established a family in Orosháza, where in 1979 he worked in the local glassworks as a graduate engineer. Zoltán Varga (born in 1967) is a Hungarian businessman, investor, and publisher. He is the founder and owner of Central Group, one of Hungary's largest independent media companies, and one of the country's most prominent private investors. Career Varga graduated from the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Pécs. During his studies, he worked for Dresdner Bank and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
