Zlín Agglomeration
The Zlín agglomeration () is the agglomeration of the city of Zlín and its surroundings in the Czech Republic. It was defined in 2020 as a tool for drawing money from the European Structural and Investment Funds and is valid in 2021–2027. The agglomeration has a population of about 130,000 and also includes the town of Otrokovice. Definition The Zlín agglomeration was first defined in 2014 by the Ministry of Regional Development of the Czech Republic for the purposes of the Integrated Land Development Plans, which was a tool for drawing money from the European Structural and Investment Funds. The agglomeration comprised 11 municipalities with about 107,000 inhabitants and had an area of . Zlín
Zlín (in 1949–1989 Gottwaldov; ; ) is a city in the Czech Republic. It has about 75,000 inhabitants. It is the seat of the Zlín Region and it lies on the Dřevnice River. It is known as an industrial centre. The development of the modern city is closely connected to the Bata Corporation, Bata Shoes company and its social scheme, developed after World War I. Lukov (Zlín District)
Lukov is a municipality and village in Zlín District in the Zlín Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,800 inhabitants. Geography Lukov is located about northeast of Zlín. It lies on the border between the Hostýn-Vsetín Mountains and Vizovice Highlands. The highest point is at above sea level. The brooks Lukovský potok and Bělovodský potok flows through the municipality. History The first written mention of Lukov Castle is in a deed of King Ottokar I from 1219. In 1332, Lukov was documented as a property of the Sternberg family. From 1334 to 1342, it was a royal property, but then the estate was again acquired by the Sternberg family.
