2011 All-Africa Games
The 10th All-Africa Games took place between September 3–18, 2011 in Maputo, Mozambique. Maputo's hosting marked the third time the Games was held in the southern part of the continent. Host awarding In April 2005, Lusaka, Zambia was named the host of the 10th Games by the Supreme Council for Sport in Africa at a meeting in Algeria. In 2004, Ghana had indicated an interest in hosting the Games, but reportedly withdrew its bid. In December 2008, the Zambian government withdrew its offer to host the 2011 Games, due to a lack of funds. Chido "Chichie" Dzingirai or Dringirai (born October 25, 1991) is a Zimbabwean footballer who plays for Flame Lily Queens F.C. and the Zimbabwe women's national football team. Rodwell Makoto
Rodwell Makoto (born 1987) is a Zimbabwean chess International Master. He won the South African Open in 2012, and has featured for Zimbabwe in their Olympiad team. He became an International Master in 2013. With an Elo rating of 2403 in June 2015, Makoto became Zimbabwe's second highest rated International Master after Robert Gwaze, who was rated at 2422 at the time. He qualified for the Chess World Cup 2021, where he was defeated by Vladislav Kovalev in the first round. Robert Gwaze
Robert Gwaze (born 1982) is a Zimbabwean chess player. He is a former student at Prince Edward School, in Harare. At age 15, he was a Zimbabwe National Chess Champion at both junior and senior levels. Gwaze won the 1998 African Junior Championship in Nairobi, Kenya, which earned him the International Master (IM) title. Probably his greatest success was at the 2002 Chess Olympiad tournament in Bled, Slovenia when he achieved a rare perfect score, winning all nine of his games on first board for Zimbabwe, an achievement that only he and Alexander Alekhine did. In 2007, he won the African Individual Chess Championship in Windhoek, Namibia, earning a spot in the 2007 Chess World Cup. A triathlon is an endurance multisport race consisting of swimming, cycling, and running over various distances. Table tennis, also known as ping-pong and whiff-whaff, is a sport in which two or four players hit a lightweight ball, also known as the ping-pong ball, back and forth across a table using small solid rackets. It takes place on a hard table divided by a net.
