Zika fever, also known as Zika virus disease or simply Zika, is an infectious disease caused by the Zika virus. Most cases have no symptoms, but when present they are usually mild and can resemble dengue fever. Zikmund Of Pernštejn
Zikmund of Pernštejn (also spelled ''Sigmund of Pernstein''; – 1473 or later) was a Moravian nobleman. He was a supporter of the Bohemian King George of Poděbrady and was taken prisoner by the anti-king Matthias Corvinus. Life Zikmund was a member of the Moravian noble Pernštejn family. His parents were Jan II of Pernštejn and his first wife Barbora of Waldstein. Like his father and his younger brother Vilém, Zikmund supported the Bohemian King George of Poděbrady. Around the middle 1460s, his father transferred Zubštejn Castle and the associated Lordship to him. In 1467, he was taken prisoner by the Hungarian King Matthias Corvinus, who wanted to gain the crown of Bohemia. He and John of Košumberk were taken to Brno and held there. It is not known when he was released. However, his daughter Dorothea was born in 1470, suggesting that he was released no later than 1469. In early 1470, he was again taken prisoner. Zikmund Schul
Zikmund Schul (11 January 1916 – 2 June 1944) was a German Jewish composer. Life Schul was born in Chemnitz, Germany, into an Eastern European Jewish family, and grew up in Kassel. Only little is known about his life. He moved to Prague in 1933. In 1937 he started to study composition in Prague, where he was a pupil of Alois Hába. During his time in Prague he became a friend of Viktor Ullmann. In Prague he started also to archive a collection of synagogal-songs from the synagogue of Prague (under the direction of Salomon Lieben). Schul married Olga Stern in 1941, and both were deported to Terezin on 30 November 1941. Schul died in Theresienstadt concentration camp from tuberculosis. Zikmund Winter (27 December 1846 - 12 June 1912) was a Czech writer and historian. The author of many historical novels and essays, he maintained an interest in Bohemian life from the fifteenth to seventeenth centuries. Barbara Brown Zikmund (sometimes known as BBZ) (born 1939) is an American historian of religion. Biography Barbara Brown Zikmund is 1961 graduate of Beloit College. Zikmund married Joseph Zikmund in 1961, and with him has one son. In 1964 she was ordained as a minister in the United Church of Christ, the same year in which she received a Woodrow Wilson Fellowship; in 1969, she received her PhD from Duke University. Much of her research has focused on the role in American religious life played by ordained women; other of her work has been done on the history of the United Church of Christ. She was coauthor of ''Clergy Women'', published in 1998, a study on the role of women in clergy. Miroslav Zikmund (14 February 1919 – 1 December 2021) was a Czech travel writer and explorer. Biography After earning his ''Matura'' in 1938, Zikmund entered university, but was unable to graduate until 1946 due to World War II. He studied alongside Jiří Hanzelka, with whom he would complete his lifelong travels. The two became known as Hanzelka and Zikmund and made multiple films on their experiences. Miroslav Zikmund died in Prague on 1 December 2021 at the age of almost 103. Sigismund, Holy Roman Emperor
Sigismund of Luxembourg (15 February 1368 – 9 December 1437) was Holy Roman Emperor from 1433 until his death in 1437. He was elected King of Germany (King of the Romans) in 1410, and was also King of Bohemia from 1419, as well as prince-elector of Margraviate of Brandenburg, Brandenburg (1378–1388 and 1411–1415). As the husband of Mary, Queen of Hungary, he was also King of Hungary and Croatia in union with Hungary, Croatia (''jure uxoris'') from 1387. He was the last male member of the House of Luxembourg. Sigismund was the son of Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor and his fourth wife Elizabeth of Pomerania. He married Mary, Queen of Hungary in 1385 and was crowned King of Hungary soon after. He fought to restore and maintain authority to the throne. Mary died in 1395, leaving Sigismund the sole ruler of Kingdom of Hungary, Hungary.
