The fifth and final season of ''Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters'', loosely based on the manga by Kazuki Takahashi, aired in Japan on TV Tokyo from December 24, 2003, to September 29, 2004. The official name of the latter arc of the season is ''Pharaoh's Memories arc''. In the United States, the season aired from August 27, 2005, to June 10, 2006, on Kids' WB and broadcast under the ''Grand Championship'' (episodes 1–14) and ''Dawn of the Duel'' subtitles. ''Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Monsters'' is a 12-episode mini-series commissioned and produced by 4Kids Entertainment in the United States, and animated by Studio Gallop in Japan (with uncredited assistance from Dong Woo Animation in Korea) shortly after the conclusion of the original series. This miniseries is an addendum to the first half of the final season of the anime, taking place after the ''Grand Championships'' but before the climactic ''Dawn of the Duel'' arc.
