The Sutton Place Hotel Toronto is a Canadian luxury hotel located in Toronto, Ontario. The current Sutton Place Hotel Toronto is situated at 355 King Street West. Between 1967 and 2012, the hotel occupied a grand building on Bay Street. The hotel in its new location is now under the full ownership and operations of The Sutton Place Hotels, having been rebranded from King Blue Hotel Toronto. The Sutton Place Hotels also manages hotel properties in Halifax, Nova Scotia; Revelstoke, British Columbia and Vancouver, British Columbia (The Sutton Place). The hotel is owned by Northland Properties and managed by the Sutton Place Hotel Company (SP) (which also managed the Sutton Place Hotel in Toronto). Sutton Place, is a small street in the London Borough of Hackney. It links Homerton High Street with St John's Church Gardens, in Hackney. The Georgian terrace of 1790–1806, is Grade II listed as a whole, together with the villas on the north side of the street which date from 1820, and is sited in the conservation area around the gardens of St John-at-Hackney. The street replaced Church Path, an historic path connecting the villages of Homerton and Hackney. History Description On the south side, is a stock-brick three-storeyed terrace of Georgian houses built by Charterhouse. The terrace was likely to have been designed by its inhouse surveyor, William Pilkington, between 1790 and 1806. It was then leased to William Collins in 1809. Sutton Place, north-east of Guildford in Surrey, is a large Grade I listed Tudor architecture, Tudor prodigy house built c. 1525 by Sir Richard Weston of Sutton Place, Sir Richard Weston (d. 1541), a courtier of Henry VIII. It is of importance to art history in showing some of the earliest traces of Italianate Renaissance design elements in English architecture. In modern times, the estate has had a series of wealthy owners, initially J. Paul Getty, then the world's richest private citizen, who spent the last 17 years of his life there. It is currently owned by a discretionary irrevocable trust created by an Uzbek Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov. York Avenue, Sutton Place, and Sutton Place South are the names of segments of a north–south thoroughfare in the Yorkville, Lenox Hill, and Sutton Place neighborhoods of the East Side of Manhattan, in New York City.
