Deba Prasad Das
Deba Prasad Das was an Indian classical dancer, considered by critics and connoisseurs as one of the four first generation gurus of the Indian classical dance form of Odissi. His Odissi style is robust and unique. He was a recipient of the 1977 Sangeet Natak Akademi Award. and 1974 Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi Award. Biography Deba Prasad Das was born in 1932 in a Karana family at a small village near Cuttack called Keul Chabi Sua, in the Indian state of Odisha to Indramani Devi and Durga Charan Das, a police officer. He lost his mother at an early age and was brought up by his grandfather who was a local violin player. Das did his early schooling at Puri and started picking up music and dance at the age of six from a nearby traditional school (Pathara Akhara) run by Mohan Chandra Mohapatra. Bizunesh Deba
Buzunesh Deba (born 8 September 1987) is a Bronx-based Ethiopian long-distance runner. She won the 2014 Boston Marathon in her personal-best time of 2:19:59. In the race, Deba finished behind Rita Jeptoo, who was later disqualified for doping. A prolific runner since 2009, she is a winner of the California International Marathon, San Diego Marathon, Los Angeles Marathon, Grandma's Marathon, Boston Marathon, and Twin Cities Marathon. She has finished in the top ten three times at the New York City Marathon. Career Her first international appearance for Ethiopia came in the long race at the 2003 IAAF World Cross Country Championships, where she came 33rd overall. Deba Hekmat (born 14 November 2001) is an Iranian-British model, actress, and writer. She began her career in modeling before starring in the film '' Last Swim'' (2024). Early life Hekmat was born in Sardasht, western Iran. She is Kurdish. In 2004, her family fled to the United Kingdom, where they settled in Croydon, South London. When Hekmat was 12, the family moved again to Cardiff. She left her sixth form college early and subsequently moved back to London. Deba, Gipuzkoa
Deba is a town located in the province of Gipuzkoa, in the autonomous community of Basque Country, in the north of Spain. The town centre is right on the sea, and the municipal district includes a series of country villages, such as Itziar, Lastur and Elorriaga. History The town shares a name with the Deba River, cited in Roman chronicles. Shell deposits and bone harpoons may be found in many caves in the Deba municipal districts, and some of the figures in the Palaeolithic shrine at Ekain further show the town's relationship to the sea. The town's origins date back to 1343. Sancho IV of Castile granted the citizens of "Monte-Real", in Itziar, a charter as a township in 1294. Deba Wieland (25 March 1916 – 16 December 1992) was a left-wing German journalist. Between 1952 and 1977, she was in charge at the (East) German News Service (''Allgemeiner Deutscher Nachrichtendienst''). Life Deba Wieland was born at the height of the First World War, a year before the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk removed Russia from the war with Germany. Her father is described in sources as a German Trade representative based, at the time of her birth, in Moscow which is where she was born. Her mother worked as a book-keeper. From 1919, Wieland grew up in Riga which is where she attended Secondary School (''Oberschule'') and where in 1933, she passed her school final exams. Deba Gupta (December 1911 – 6 May 1930) alias Deba Prasad Gupta was a Bengali revolutionary who joined in the Chittagong armoury raid. He died in a Kalarpole encounter with the British police on 6 May 1930. Revolutionary activities Deba Gupta was born in December 1911 in Dhaka, British India, his father's name was Jogendranath Gupta (Mona). He came into contact with ''Masterda'' Surya Sen and his revolutionary group while studying in college. He took part in the Chittagong Uprising led by the Indian Republican Army. Gupta took part in the Armoury raid on 18 April 1930 and an armed encounter in Jalalabad hill on 22 April 1930.
