XM Satellite Radio
XM Satellite Radio (XM) was one of the three satellite radio ( SDARS) and online radio services in the United States and Canada, operated by Sirius XM Holdings. It provided pay-for-service radio, analogous to subscription cable television. Its service included 73 different music channels, 39 news, sports, talk and entertainment channels, 21 regional traffic and weather channels, and 23 play-by-play sports channels. XM channels were identified by Arbitron with the label "XM" (e.g., "XM32" for " The Bridge"). The company had its origins in the 1988 formation of the American Mobile Satellite Corporation (AMSC), a consortium of several organizations originally dedicated to satellite broadcasting of telephone, fax, and data signals. In 1992, AMSC established a unit called the American Mobile Radio Corporation dedicated to developing a satellite-based digital radio service; this was spun off as XM Satellite Radio Holdings, Inc. in 1999. XM (file Format)
XM, standing for "extended module", is an audio file type introduced by Triton's FastTracker 2. XM introduced multisampling-capable instruments with volume and panning envelopes, sample looping and basic pattern compression. It also expanded the available effect commands and channels, added 16-bit sample support, and offered an alternative frequency table for portamentos. XM is a common format for many module files. The file format has been initially documented by its creator in the file XM.TXT, which accompanied the 2.08 release of FastTracker 2, as well as its latest known beta version2.09b The file, written in 1994 and attributed to Mr.H of Triton (Fredrik Huss), bears the header "The XM module format description for XM files version $0104." ''XM'' (also known as ''Transmission 1.1'' and ''Transmission 1.2'') is a live-in-studio album recorded by British band Porcupine Tree in early 2003 as a live album of mostly ''In Absentia'' tracks. This was taken from a session at XM Satellite Radio in Washington D.C. on 12 November 2002, and was originally released as a limited edition tour album. BMW XM
The BMW XM is a plug-in hybrid-electric full-size luxury crossover SUV manufactured by BMW under the BMW M subsidiary. It is the second car developed entirely by BMW M after the BMW M1 in 1978. A more powerful version, the Label Red, was also announced alongside the unveiling of the XM on the 27th of September. Launch and development BMW was Art Basel's official partner for event's 2021 edition, where on the 29th of November BMW unveiled a concept version of the XM at Miami Beach, Florida. Production of the XM started in December 2022 at the BMW US Manufacturing Company plant in Greer, South Carolina, with deliveries expected to commence in 2023. BMW would also enter a gentlemen's agreement with French carmaker Citroën in order to be able to use the name "XM" for its vehicle, since Citroën originally used it for the XM. Citroën XM
The Citroën XM is a front-engine, front-drive, five-passenger, five-door hatchback noted for its hydropneumatic suspension. Manufactured and marketed by Citroën from 1989 to 2000, with a minor facelift in 1994, XM production reached 333,405 over the course of 11 years. The XM was voted 1990 European Car of the Year.
