Wrestlepalooza (1998)
Wrestlepalooza (1998) was the third Wrestlepalooza professional wrestling event produced by Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) and the only edition of Wrestlepalooza to be broadcast on pay-per-view (PPV). The event took place on May 3, 1998 in the Cobb County Civic Center in Marietta, Georgia. Joey Styles provided commentary for the event. Seven professional wrestling matches were contested at the event. In the main event, Shane Douglas defeated Al Snow to retain the World Heavyweight Championship in Snow's farewell match in ECW as he departed the company after the event to jump to World Wrestling Federation (WWF). Wrestlepalooza (1997) was the second Wrestlepalooza professional wrestling event produced by Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). The event took place on June 6, 1997 in the ECW Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Eight professional wrestling matches were contested at the event. In the main event, The Eliminators defeated The Dudley Boyz to retain the World Tag Team Championship. Other matches on the card featured Sabu versus Taz, Terry Funk versus Chris Candido for the World Heavyweight Championship and Tommy Dreamer pinning Raven for the first time in a Loser Leaves Town match, marking the end of a feud that first began upon Raven's debut in January 1995. Wrestlepalooza, the first Wrestlepalooza professional wrestling event produced by Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), took place on August 5, 1995 at the ECW Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the United States. Wrestlepalooza (2000) was the fourth and final Wrestlepalooza professional wrestling event produced by Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). The event took place on April 16, 2000 in the Family Arena in St. Charles, Missouri. Wrestlepalooza was a live event, with matches being taped for the April 21 episode of ''ECW on TNN'' and the April 23 episode of '' Hardcore TV''. Event Pre-show Simon Diamond kicked off the show by blaming H. C. Loc for not being a fair referee. Diamond then led his group into attacking Loc, who then took off his referee shirt and handed it to The Musketeer, who officiated the match between Diamond and Loc. Loc hit a diving crossbody on both men and pinned Diamond, counting the pinfall himself for the victory. Next, Chilly Willy competed against Johnny Swinger. Troy Allan Martin (born November 21, 1964) is an American professional wrestler and promoter, better known by his ring name Shane Douglas. Jerome Young (January 3, 1963 – May 14, 2021) was an American professional wrestler better known by his ring name New Jack. He was best known for his time with Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), where he became notorious for his willingness to take dangerous bumps and his stiff hardcore wrestling style, often taking high risks and known for shooting on opponents, including the 1996 Mass Transit incident and an altercation with Gypsy Joe in 2003. The Dudley Boyz (also known as Team 3D) are an American professional wrestling tag team that consisted of kayfabe half-brothers Bubba Ray Dudley (Mark LoMonaco) and D-Von Dudley (Devon Hughes). The team was also joined by various Dudley family members, notably Spike Dudley (Matthew Hyson) and former valet Stacy Keibler. Extreme Championship Wrestling
HHG Corporation, doing business as Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), was a professional wrestling promotion and media company that was based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The promotion was founded in 1992 by Tod Gordon as National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) affiliate Eastern Championship Wrestling. The following year, businessman and wrestling promoter Paul Heyman took over the creative end of the promotion from Eddie Gilbert and rechristened the promotion as Extreme Championship Wrestling. Allen Ray Sarven (born July 18, 1963) is an American professional wrestler better known by his ring name Al Snow. He is best known as a wrestler for Smoky Mountain Wrestling, Extreme Championship Wrestling, and World Wrestling Entertainment. Snow has also held various backstage positions for professional wrestling promotions. Family Arena
The Family Arena is a multi-purpose arena in St. Charles, Missouri, built in 1999. The arena seats 9,643 for hockey, 9,755 for football, 10,467 for basketball, 6,339 for half-house concerts and up to 11,522 for end-stage concerts. In addition to sporting events, concerts, circuses and ice shows the arena is also used for trade shows with a total of of exhibit space ( on the arena floor and on the arena concourse). Currently it is home to the St. Louis Ambush of the Major Arena Soccer League.
