It is certain that she was the first consort of Rudolph I of Burgundy, Rudolf I of Upper Burgundy (who was proclaimed king in 888 and died on 25 October 911Reuter, Timothy (1991). Player was the first African-American woman to become president of a four-year, fully accredited liberal arts college when she took the position at Bennett College in Greensboro, North Carolina. By marriage to Berengar II of Italy she was Countess of Ivrea from 930 to 963, and queen consort of Italy from 950 to 963.
