Wenn Der Vater Mit Dem Sohne
''Wenn der Vater mit dem Sohne'' is a 1955 West German film directed by Hans Quest. It was shot at the Tempelhof Studios in Berlin. Plot summary Teddy Lemke is a lodger with Miss Biermann. She has taken the six-year Ulli into her care, whose mother emigrated to America. Teddy Lemke takes good care of the little Ulli – as if he were his own son. When Ulli surprises Teddy with a children's clown costume, which he accidentally found in the attic, Teddy hesitantly tells the story of his life: Formerly he was a famous clown who performed together with his son. When the boy died, Teddy ended his career. Ulli persuades Teddy to return to the stage, and from then on they perform together. Their immediate success leads to an offer for a longer engagement. At this moment Ulli's mother Gerti, who is now married, returns from America to take Ulli back with her. Bruno Balz
Bruno Balz (6 October 1902, in Berlin – 14 March 1988, in Bad Wiessee) was a German songwriter and schlager writer. From the time he wrote the music for the first German sound film until his retirement in the 1960s, Balz was responsible for the lyrics to over a thousand popular hits. Much of his output was in conjunction with the composer Michael Jary; their songs helped make the singer Zarah Leander popular. Balz was arrested several times for homosexuality. In 1936 he spent several months in prison, and was released under an agreement that mandated that his name was no longer to appear in public. To maintain the appearance of propriety he entered a "lavender marriage" with a woman named Selma. He was rearrested in 1941 by the Gestapo and was kept in the Gestapo headquarters in Prinz-Albrecht-Straße. Arnim Dahl (March 12, 1922 in Stettin – August 3, 1998 in Wedel) was a German Stuntman. Life His father Hermann Dahl was a former German champion in springboard diving. Following in his father’s footsteps, Dahl was the 1938 German youth champion in springboard diving. Dahl was a bricklayer and carpenter before his service in World War II. After his military service, Dahl returned to Hamburg in 1946, and performed as a clown and circus artist. He already showed talent in tightrope walking, which would later make him famous. Starting in 1949, he became a stuntman. In 1952 he was hired by German director Kurt Hoffmann for the comedy '' Klettermaxe'' (translated “Climber”), where Dahl would be the stunt double for the film’s lead actor Albert Lieven.
