Wright State Raiders Men's Basketball
The Wright State Raiders men's basketball is the men's college basketball team that represents Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio. The school's team currently competes in the Horizon League at the NCAA Division I level. The Raiders won their only national championship in 1983 as an NCAA Division II school. Wright State has made a total of four NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament appearances, most recently in 2022. The Raiders play their home games at the Nutter Center and are led by head coach Clint Sargent. History Wright State first sponsored men's basketball in 1970 under the direction of Coach John Ross. Horizon League
The Horizon League is a collegiate List of NCAA conferences, athletic conference in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) NCAA Division I, Division I. Headquartered in Indianapolis, the league's eleven member schools are located in and near the Great Lakes region and in part of the Southern United States. The Horizon League founded in 1979 as the Midwestern City Conference. The conference changed its name to Midwestern Collegiate Conference in 1985 and then the Horizon League in 2001. The conference started with a membership of six teams and has fluctuated in size with 24 different schools as members at different times. The league currently has 11 members. Israel Sheinfeld (; born July 1, 1976) is an Israeli former basketball player. He played the power forward and center positions. Scott Nagy
Scott Michael Nagy (; born June 7, 1966) is an American college basketball coach and the current head coach for Southern Illinois Salukis men's basketball. He had previously served as head coach at South Dakota State for 21 seasons (1995–2016). Biography Born in Abilene, Texas, Nagy attended St. Matthews grade school in Champaign, Illinois and Champaign Centennial High School, which he graduated from in 1984. His father is Dick Nagy, who was a University of Illinois assistant basketball coach under Lou Henson. William Joseph Donlon (born February 10, 1977) is an American college basketball coach, currently an associate head coach at Clemson Tigers men's basketball, Clemson University. Playing career Donlon played four years of basketball at UNC Wilmington Seahawks men's basketball, UNC Wilmington under Jerry Wainwright, scoring 901 career points and handing out 457 assists. Edmund C. Schilling Jr. (born January 4, 1966) is an American college basketball coach and former player who is the current Head Basketball Coach at Pepperdine University. Previously he served as the head coach of the Wright State Raiders. College career Schilling was a starting point guard at Miami (Ohio) for four years from 1984 to 1988. William Allen Edwards (born August 28, 1971) is an American former professional basketball player. He was a tall small forward-power forward. During his playing career, his nickname was "Dollar Bill" Edwards. College career Edwards played college basketball at Wright State University, with the Wright State Raiders, where he became one of the school's legends. He was voted the Summit League Player of the Year in 1993. Professional career Edwards was never drafted by an NBA franchise. The Southern Illinois Salukis men's basketball team represents Southern Illinois University Carbondale in Carbondale, Illinois. Brad Brownell
Bradley Robert Brownell (born November 15, 1968) is an American college basketball coach at Clemson University. Prior to coming to Clemson, he held the same position at Wright State and UNC Wilmington. Early life Born in Evansville, Indiana, Brownell played high school basketball at William Henry Harrison High School with former Indiana University player and current Director of Player Development Calbert Cheaney.
