World Archery Championships
The World Archery Championships are a series of competitions in Archery organised by the World Archery Federation. The first competition held under that title took place in 1931. Competition archery takes a wide variety of formats, but the title World Championships is commonly reserved for the following three events: # Outdoor World Championships in target Archery # Indoor World Championships in target Archery # World Championships in field Archery. Of these, the Outdoor World Championships in target Archery is most commonly referred to as simply the 'World Archery Championships', and the winners most commonly referred to as simply "world champions". Events in those outdoor championships are held involving fixed targets at set distances, using a variety of bows, the recurve bow from 1931 and the compound bow since 1995. World Championship
A world championship is generally an international competition open to elite competitors from around the world, representing their nations, and winning such an event will be considered the highest or near highest achievement in the sport, game, or ability. How the championship title is assigned The title is usually awarded through a combination of specific contests or, less commonly, ranking systems (e.g. the ICC Test Championship), or a combination of the two (e.g. World Triathlon Championships in Triathlon). This determines a 'world champion', who or which is commonly considered the best nation, team, individual (or other entity) in the world in a particular field, although the vagaries of sport ensure that the competitor recognised at the best in an event is not always the 'world champion' (see Underdog). 1935 World Archery Championships
The 1935 World Archery Championships was the 5th edition of the event. It was held in Brussels, Belgium on 26–31 August 1935 and was organised by World Archery Federation (FITA). The results of the men's tournament ended in controversy. For the first (and only) time, the competition took an elimination format: after a standard International round, consisting of 6 rounds shot at various lengths from 30m to 90m, the 15 archers with the highest cumulative score took part in a final round, shot at 30m, to decide the champion. In the women's competition, the eventual winner Ina Catani was the same as the first round winner; but in the men's, the Czechoslovak archers who had dominated the first round struggled against the host Belgian archers who were masters of the shorter distance. Båstad
Båstad () is a Urban areas in Sweden, locality and the seat of Båstad Municipality, Scania County, Sweden, with approximately 5,000 permanent residents. It is however one of Sweden's most typical summer resorts. The population is presumably more than twice as large between April and September, and even larger during July.
