World's Strongest Viking
World's Strongest Viking was an annual international Strongman competition organized by Strongman Champions League and held for eight consecutive years from 2014 to 2021 with participation of top strongman athletes in the world. It was held under perilous weather conditions in winter, testing the athletes to their limits. The roots of the competition goes back to the Nordic Strongman Championships which was continued until 2013 with participation of athletes from Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. In 2014, Giants Live upscaled it to global level, renaming the competition to 'World's Strongest Viking'. In 2015, Strongman Champions League took over. The competition was held every January in Vinstra, Norway under freezing weather conditions and with vintage Viking events. Among the most iconic events were Viking deadlift, Viking boat pull, Viking press, Viking ship mast super yoke, Hercules hold, power stairs and Atlas stones. Vinstra
Vinstra is a List of towns and cities in Norway, town in Nord-Fron Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The town is the administrative centre of the municipality. David Nyström (born February 21, 1980) is a former Swedish professional ice hockey player who played in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) and Norwegian GET-ligaen. Bjørn Andre Solvang
Bjørn Andre Solvang (born 10 July 1987) is a Norwegian Strongman from Hedmark. Solvang participated in his first Norway's Strongest Man competition in 2008 where he emerged seventh place, and became the champion by 2017. In his first appearance at World's Strongest Man competition in 2013 held in Sanya, China, he participated in the fourth qualifier group where Žydrūnas Savickas and Mike Burke made it to the finals. In his second appearance in 2014 also he participated in the fourth qualifier group where Savickas and Laurence Shahlaei made it to the finals. Kelvin de Ruiter is a competitive strongman from the Netherlands and is a four-time Strongest Man of the Netherlands champion. Having competed in 43 International strongman competitions and winning 8 of them, de Ruiter is among the Strongman#Modern Strongmen, 50 most decorated strongmen of all time. Aivars Šmaukstelis (born 20 September 1987) is a Latvian strongman. Having competed in 78 International strongman competitions, he has won 27 of them, making him the fifth most decorated strongman in history. Career Šmaukstelis began his career at the age of 16 as a powerlifter. After training for a couple of years, he achieved a personal best of 800 kg (1,764 lb) total (equipped/ multi ply category) at the age of 18. Mika Törrö
Mika Törrö (born 11 May 1979) is a Finnish Strongman from Joensuu and a 5 x times Finland's Strongest Man champion. Törrö had a difficult upbringing early in his life, suffering from ADHD, BPD and was imprisoned for over a decade. Through strength training he managed to change his ways and eventually got an opportunity to join Strongman Champions League. Ensuing years, he won three silver medals and six bronze medals and became a regular contestant in the international circuit. Additionally, Törrö secured consecutive bronze medals in World's Strongest Viking competition in 2019 and 2020 and won 2021 Imatra Strongman Showdown. Dennis Kohlruss (born 14 May 1988) is a German strongman competitor from Rastatt and the reigning 4 x times Germany's Strongest Man.
