Women's Front
The Women's Front () is a Norwegian radical feminist organization founded in 1972, and the country's oldest and largest radical feminist group. It was historically associated with the now defunct Workers' Communist Party, although its ties to the party became less pronounced during the 1980s. History The organization was founded in 1972 and grew out of the marxist-leninist movement, known as the "M-L movement." As Norway's first radical feminist group, it distanced itself from the existing women's movement in Norway. It took its name after the historical newspaper named ''Kvinnefronten'' ("the women's front") which had been published by the Communist Party of Norway. Elisabeth Lund Engebretsen
Elisabeth Lund Engebretsen (born 23 September 1973) is a Norwegian anthropologist and gender studies scholar. She is a full professor of gender studies at the University of Stavanger and has been a visiting senior fellow at the London School of Economics. Career Engebretsen earned a cand.mag. in Chinese and anthropology at the University of Oslo in 1997, a master's degree in gender studies at the London School of Economics (LSE) in 2000, a master's degree in anthropology at LSE in 2003 and a PhD in anthropology at LSE in 2008. She has also studied Chinese at universities in China, where she has lived for extended periods. Her dissertation advisers were Henrietta Moore and Charles Stafford. She was a senior lecturer in gender studies at the University of Oslo until she became an associate professor of gender studies at the University of Stavanger in 2018. Intersectional Feminism
Intersectionality is an analytical framework for understanding how groups' and individuals' social and political identities result in unique combinations of discrimination and privilege. Examples of these intersecting and overlapping factors include gender, caste, sex, race, ethnicity, class, sexuality, religion, disability, physical appearance, and age. These factors can lead to both empowerment and oppression. The Women's Declaration International (WDI), formerly the Women's Human Rights Campaign (WHRC), is an international advocacy organisation founded in the United Kingdom. WDI has published a ''Declaration on Women's Sex-Based Rights'', and has developed model legislation to restrict transgender rights that has been used in state legislatures in the United States. Transphobia consists of negative attitudes, feelings, or actions towards transgender or transsexual people, or transness in general. Transphobia can include fear, aversion, hatred, violence or anger towards people who do not conform to social gender roles.
