WK League
The WK League (Hangul: WK리그) is a semi-professional women's football league, run by the Korea Football Association (KFA) and the Korea Women's Football Federation (KWFF), which represents the sport's highest level in South Korea. Icheon Daekyo won the inaugural edition of the WK League in 2009 and won two more titles in 2011 and 2012. Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angels are the most successful team in the league, having won eleven consecutive titles between 2013 and 2023. Icheon Daekyo Women's Football Club () was a South Korean women's football team based in Icheon, Gyeonggi-do. It was founded in 2002 and competed in the WK League, the top division of women's football in South Korea, from the league's inaugural season in 2009 until the team's disbandment in 2017. History In August 2002, Daekyo announced the foundation of a new women's football team, with Choi Chu-kyung appointed as manager. The team was formally established under the name Daekyo Kangaroos in November 2002. Bucheon FMC Best WFC, full name Bucheon Facilities Management Corporation BEST Women's Football Club () was a South Korean women's football team based in Bucheon Bucheon (; ) is a city in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Suwon FC Women ( Korean: 수원 FC 위민) is a South Korean women's football team based in Suwon. They compete in the WK League, the highest division of women's football in South Korea. History In 2007, amid dwindling participation in women's and girls' football nationwide, the Suwon City Government announced its intention to form South Korea's sixth women's works football team.
