Women's Asia Cup
The Women's Asia Cup is the biennial cricket tournament organised by the Asian Cricket Council. The tournament is played by senior national cricket teams of Asian members, determining the continental champion of Asia. The first Asia Cup was held in 2004 on Colombo and Kandy in the Sri Lanka. The 2020 edition was postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic before being cancelled. The ICC has ruled that all the matches played in the Asia Cup has ODI or T20I status. The 2012 Asia Cup was the first event to be played in the T20 format. By 2024, there have been nine Women’s Asia Cup tournaments with India winning the most number of titles (7). Asian Cricket Council
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is a cricket organization which was established in 1983, to promote and develop the sport of Cricket in Asia. Subordinate to the International Cricket Council, the council is the continent's regional administrative body, and currently consists of 27 member associations. Mohsin Naqvi is the current president of Asian Cricket Council. History The council was formed as the Asian Cricket Conference in New Delhi, India, on 19 September 1983, with the original members being Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, and Sri Lanka. Pakistan National Women's Cricket Team
The Pakistan women's national cricket team, also known as the ''Green Shirts'' or ''Women in Green'', represents Pakistan in international women's cricket. Women's One-day International Cricket
Women's One Day International (ODI) is the limited overs form of women's cricket. Matches are scheduled for 50 overs, equivalent to the men's game. The first women's ODIs were played in 1973, as part of the first Women's World Cup which was held in England. The first ODI would have been between New Zealand and Jamaica on 20 June 1973, but was abandoned without a ball being bowled, due to rain. Therefore, the first women's ODIs to take place were three matches played three days later. The 1,000th women's ODI took place between South Africa and New Zealand on 13 October 2016. Women's ODI status is determined by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and was restricted to full members of the ICC. In May 2022, the ICC awarded ODI status to five more teams.
